Björk’s Vulnicura among Top 10 Albums of 2015

Björk’s album Vulnicura, released in January, is the fifth best album of 2015, according to The Guardian. “Björk laid her heart so bare on her brutal, beautiful ninth album we could hardly listen. But those that persevered found light at the end of a grueling tunnel,” Music News Editor Harriet Gibsone writes.

But it wasn’t just The Guardian who rated Vulnicura so highly; the album received widespread critical acclaim. The album is the 11th best of the year, according to music review website AnyDecentMusic. The ranking is “the widest survey of worldwide critical opinion,” according to the site.

Albums with fewer than 10 reviews from AnyDecentMusic’s list of 50 sources from the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Ireland are excluded, and the formula the site applies to arrive at the rating takes the number of reviews into account.

Both The Guardian and AnyDecentMusic agree that Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly is the best album released during the past 12 months.
