Bjarni Ármannsson, chairman of the board of Reykjavík Energy Invest (REI) and former CEO of Glitnir Bank, will sell his share in REI to Reykjavík Energy (OR) but continue as the company’s chairman to finish projects that have already begun.
“The cooperation with Bjarni has been good and without disagreements,” chairman of OR’s board Bryndís Hlödversdóttir told Fréttabladid.
“But it is natural that the changes that have taken place within the company since the merger between REI and Geysir Green Energy (GGE) was revoked cause him to review his position. It is not the same company he initially joined,” Hlödversdóttir added.
According to Fréttabladid, the conclusion of the REI-GGE debate will probably be that OR will hold a 100 percent stake in REI.
