Geir of Geirbakarí in Borgarnes has set off on summer vacation after Ben Stiller arranged to rent the bakery for the filming of scenes for his movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, visir.is reports.

The bakery will feature as pizza restaurant Papa John’s in the movie. The set is reportedly almost ready for shooting on Monday and Tuesday, after which the bakery will return to normal on Wednesday.
Geir says he won’t feature in the movie himself, deciding to use the time to go on summer holiday instead of hanging out on the set.
According to Geir, the arrangements for the lease began some time ago when Ben Stiller and his assistants traveled the country last year in search of possible shooting locations.
The Icelandic media has regularly covered Stiller’s work in the country over the last few weeks.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the actor-director was temporarily transforming several Icelandic seaside villages which serve as shooting locations for the film.
