Beer Festival February 24-27

KEX Hostel hosts its annual Icelandic Beer Festival February 24-27, celebrating the 27th anniversary of Icelandic beer. On March 1, 1989, the sale of beer was allowed in Iceland after 74 years of being prohibited. KEX Hostel invites Icelandic as well as foreign beer makers to introduce their products during the festival.

All the major Icelandic brewing companies take part in the festival, as well as microbreweries from Denmark and the US.

This year, the festival takes place in three new locations: Mikkeller & Friends Reykjavík, Hverfisgata 12 and Fiskislóð 73, where a rock concert is also planned.

A festival pass for ISK 9,900 (USD 74, EUR 69) includes tasting of all beers offered, a chance to meet the brewers, a workshop, live music, bar snacks and more.
