Baugur likely to acquire House of Fraser

According to the Financial Times, directors of the House of Fraser department store chain in the UK are likely to accept Icelandic company Baugur’s takeover bid this weekend. According to the paper’s sources, Baugur is in the process of concluding a GBP 350 million formal offer to acquire the chain. Baugur’s partners in the offer are HBOS Bank, FL Group (parent company of Icelandair) and Kevin Stanford, one of the founders of the Karen Millen chain of fashion stores. This is reported by Morgunbladid online.
