Baugur CEO sings for Simon Cowell

Baugur CEO Jón Ásgeir Jóhannesson sang the song “Stál og hnífur” (“Steel and knife”) by Icelandic singer/songwriter Bubbi Morthens for the British X-Factor judge at a special Baugur gala event held in Monaco this week.

Cowell is known for being a harsh critic in the UK reality series, but there were no accounts of what he thought of the CEO’s singing, Fréttabladid reports.

Jóhannesson sang in a mock X-Factor style, planned specifically for Baugur employees attending the three-day event, which began Tuesday, dubbed as the international Baugur Day.

A 25-minute-long mock version of British comedy sketch Little Britain was also staged during Baugur Day, dubbed “Little Baugur,” starring the show’s own David Walliams and Matt Lucas.

Baugur employees and people connected to the company acted alongside Walliams and Lucas, including Jóhannesson and FL Group CEO Hannes Smárason.

Last year former US President Bill Clinton held a presentation at Baugur Day.
