Baugur case in Supreme Court begins

The case of the State vs. Baugur Group began at 8 am this morning at the Supreme Court of Iceland. Four defendants are accused with six charges of fraud and embezzlement.

On March 15, 2006, Reykjavík District Court had dismissed all charges against Baugur, but the state appealed. Mbl.is reports.

The defendants in court today are Jón Ásgeir Jóhannesson, Kristín Jóhannesdóttir, Anna Thórdardóttir and Stefán Hilmarsson.
