Battered State Hospital needs more Money

By Iceland Review

The Chairman of the board of directors for the National Hospital in Iceland, Landspítali, Pálmi Ragnar Pálmason says that more capital is need for the running of the hospital, according to RUV.

Pálmi says the hospital needs more money and that it is in a tight situation. He adds that communications within the hospital have to be improved and that the board of directors will try to induce better communications.

The Physicians Society of Iceland last Friday issued a statement that the hospital should rehire two chief doctors who had been removed from office. In both cases, courts have ruled the hospital acted illegally. Pálmi said on TV last Saturday that it would be only “to entertain the Devil” to rehire the two doctors, only to fire them again. He now claims that his words have been misinterpreted.
