There is a travel warning for East and North Iceland for today. The forecast is bad with high winds and heavy snowfall. Tomorrow the snowfall will hit the West Fjords.

Today the wind will be from the Northwest and up to 83 km/h (52 miles/h). It will start to snow in the capital area later today. The temperature will be just below freezing.
The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration, says that it is extremely slippery in Borgarfjörður, West Iceland, and a lot of snow on the road leading to Egilsstaðir in the east.
Fjarðarheiði, the mountain pass from Egilsstaðir to Reyðarfjörður, is only open to 4WD vehicles. Snowfall, is in Southeast Iceland, near Höfn, and the roads there are icy, mbl.is reports.
