The Icelandic Met Office has issued an avalanche warning in the East Fjords. For days, East Iceland has been hit by heavy snowfall.

The only town in the area where the warning has been issued is Seyðisfjörður, but on mountain passes, like Oddskarð between Neskaupstaður and Eskifjörður is a real risk. Earlier today, a large avalanche fell from the mountain Svartafjall, but did not reach the only road, number 92, to connect Neskaupstaður to the rest of Iceland, ruv.is reports.
