Avalanche in North Iceland

A large avalanche fell north of Dalvík in an unsettled area late yesterday.

The Icelandic Met Office has warned that there is a high risk of avalanche in the northwestern West Fjords, in Tröllaskagi and Fjallabyggð in North Iceland, and considerable risk in East Iceland, visir.is reports.

As reported this morning, most mountain roads in West Iceland, the West Fjords, North and East Iceland are impassable.
