Atlantica Is “Cool and Relaxed”

The January-February issue of Icelandair’s inflight magazine Atlantica has been released and this time its theme is “Cool and Relaxed,” coinciding with Páll Stefánsson’s cover photo of a thermal outdoor swimming pool in Iceland’s snowy winter landscape.

Interviewees include Eirný Sigurdardóttir, who opened Búrid, a deli cheese store in Reykjavík, moments before the crisis hit. Having faith in Icelandic dairy products, Sigurdardóttir discusses the uniqueness of Icelandic cheeses.

Eliza Reid covers the booming Icelandic water export industry in her article “Liquid Gold” and guest contributors Tormod Granheim and Fredrik Schenholm recite their adventurous experience of skiing in Iceland’s pristine landscape in their article “Eyes on Ice.”

Páll Stefánsson presents the results of his search for “Cool Pools” from Borgarnes in the west to Mývatn in the northeast in an amazing photo essay.

Also in this issue, five northern Icelandair destinations around the world, Maximus Musicus—the Iceland Symphony Orchestra mouse who is preparing to conquer the world, cool Icelandic design, the best local restaurants and Iceland’s untouched nature.

Atlantica is published by Heimur Ltd. in cooperation with Icelandair. Passengers are always welcome to take a copy with them from the plane.
