The men have repeatedly tried to sneak onboard vessels bound for other countries and one of them has tried to access the Grundartangi harbor area before, Morgunblaðið reports.

According to information from the police in Borgarfjörður and Dalir, the men are believed to have entered the fenced-off harbor area the night before but were noticed in the surveillance system of Faxaflóahafnir around noon yesterday. Subsequently, the police were called to the scene.

It is unknown which ship the asylum seekers were trying to board and which country they were trying to reach.
