According to the police, the attempted stowaway was carrying food for the journey. He has been arrested twice before for the same reason, in Sundahöfn and by the aluminum smelter in Straumsvík, Hafnarfjörður, reports.

The asylum seeker spent one night in prison and was taken to the hostel accommodating asylum seekers in Reykjanesbær the next day.
