Ash Sale Delivers USD 7,500 in Donation to ICE-SAR

More than USD 7,500 (ISK 960,000, EUR 6,100) has been donated to ICE-SAR, the umbrella organization for volunteer search and rescue teams across Iceland, through the sale of volcanic ash from the eruption in Eyjafjallajökull through the webstore nammi.is.

Collecting ash for nammi.is.

According to a press release, almost 500 jars of ash have been sold and delivered to buyers in 65 countries around the world.

ICE-SAR, a non-profit organization, has provided security services and assisted with cleaning and other tasks in the farmlands near the volcano.

Nammi.is has, from the beginning, donated all sales proceedings from the volcanic ash to ICE-SAR and hopes to be able to continue to generate income for the volunteers of the organization.
