Ash Fall From Eyjafjallajökull in South Iceland

Ash fall from Eyjafjallajökull glacier is expected in the vicinity of Vík, a small community in south Iceland, to the west of Eyjafjöll mountain range located west of Mýrdalsjökull later today.

The ash comes from previous volcanic eruptions in the Eyjafjallajökull glacier and is caused by the prevailing wind direction.

However, rain is expected to fall in the early hours of Sunday and should reduce the ash fall, mbl.is reports.
