Ásdís Hjálmsdóttir is through to the final of the women’s javelin throw at the London Olympics after throwing 62.77 meters on Tuesday, a personal best, mbl.is reports.

Ásdís placed eighth out of 38 competitors and will go up against 11 other competitors in the final, according to the official site of the London Olympics.
Ásdís became the second woman in Iceland’s history to carry the Icelandic flag at an opening ceremony at the Summer Olympics.
The final will be held at 8 pm local time today.
