Art Exhibition for Kids Opens in Mosfellsbaer Gallery

The exhibition “Úlfur, Úlfur” (“Wolf, Wolf”) opens in the Art Gallery of Mosfellsbaer, a neighboring town of Reykjavík, today. The exhibition is directed towards children with emphasis on “joy, play, light and an element of surprise.”

“For the first time […] we intend to have children as our reference point and show them how fun and fascinating art can be,” a press release describes.

Items on display include “flying caramel wrappers, tiny pieces of art that require a magnifying glass, music, animal sculptures, a giant telescope and artwork in which visitors can participate.”

At the opening, on November 12 from 1 to 3 pm to which all are welcome, Mayor of Mosfellsbaer Haraldur Sverrisson will give a speech and “distribute joy.”

It is a group exhibition by seven artists, Gudmundur Thoroddsen, Marguerite Keyes, Ragnheidur Káradóttir, Sara Riel, Sigurlaug Gísladóttir, Steinunn Hardardóttir and Sigrídur Liv Ellingsen and is curated by Lilja Birgisdóttir.

Parents are asked to accompany their children to the exhibition, which will be open during the opening hours of the local library, as the gallery is located in the same building. The exhibition will run through December 10.
