Bourriaud will give a lecture at Hafnarhús (the museum’s “Harbor House”) at 3 pm on Saturday, which will be followed by a panel discussion.
Discussions will focus on the relationship between visual arts and philosophy and taking into account its different perspectives, as stated in a press release from the museum.
The following day the program will begin with an introduction by philosopher Jón Proppé at 2 pm, after which visual artist and writer Thorvaldur Thorsteinsson, philosophy teacher Brynhildur Sigurdardóttir and philosopher Egill Arnarson will speak.
After a coffee break, panel discussions will continue. The symposium is supported by the French Embassy in Iceland. “Perspectives – On the Borders of Art and Philosophy” runs through September 4.
