Arson suspects arrested

A couple suspected of setting fire to a house in Thorlákshöfn, south Iceland, on Saturday were arrested yesterday. A third person was also arrested in relation to the case.

According to police, stolen goods from the house in question were found at the residence of one of the suspects and another one had tried to use a credit card stolen from the house. The three suspects could face up to six years of imprisonment. Ruv.is reports.

The fire was stared in an empty apartment in Thorlákshöfn on Saturday morning. A lot of smoke drifted into the next-door apartment, where a woman and two children were fast asleep. A neighbor noticed the smoke and woke them up.
