Arsenal gave Icelandic Breidablik a hard time

With a final score of 5-0, Arsenal moved closer to the Semi-Finals of the Women’s UEFA Cup. The teams met in Iceland yesterday.

Breidablik managed to keep Arsenal at an arms length in the first half of the game. But in the 32nd minute Kelly Smith of Arsenal scored her team’s first goal. Fréttabladid reports.

After the break Arsenal was on fire, attacked aggressively and scored one goal after the other. It was only thanks to Icelandic goalkeeper, Thora B. Helgadóttir, that Arsenal did not score even more goals.

Kelly Smith also scored the second goal at the 67th minute of the game, Lianne Sanderson was responsible for the third and Julie Fleeting, who used to play for Icelandic team Valur, scored the last two.
