Icelandic band Sigur Rós will launch the CPH:DOX International Documentary Film Festival in Copenhagen on October 19 with a screening of their documentary Heima (“At Home”) and an exclusive acoustic mini-concert.
Sigur Rós only rarely plays acoustic concerts and has never performed such concerts in Denmark before, according to a press release.
During the event, entitled “An Evening with Sigur Rós” which will take place at the Store Vega concert venue, the program for the 2007 CPH:DOX documentary festival will be made public, which will hold screenings from November 9 to 18.
Sigur Rós’ performance is one of many audiovisual concerts and events held during the CPH:DOX festival aimed at fulfilling the festival’s mission of bringing documentaries out of the cinemas and into the world that they reflect.
