The bands amiina and Sin Fang will perform together at a concert in the Fríkirkjan church in Reykjavík tonight at 8.30 pm. Both bands have recently released new albums: Flowers and The Lighthouse Project.

Sin Fang followed up on the release of Flowers with a three-week tour of Europe and amiina celebrated the release of The Lighthouse Project with a concert in the Cork Opera House, Ireland.

The band’s last concert in Iceland was at the ATP Festival in Iceland at the end of last month, described by British music magazine Wired as one of the festival’s highlights, according to a press release.

Tonight’s concert is sponsored by Gló and Smekkleysa. Doors open at 8 pm and tickets are also available on

Meanwhile, the international Midnight Sun Guitar Festival kicked off in the Culture House in Reykjavík on Monday.

Artistic directors Ögmundur Þór Jóhannesson and Svanur Vilbergsson established the festival to create a platform for foreign guitarists to perform in Iceland and a network between Icelandic and foreign performers.

“This year it’s mostly classical guitar. In the future we plan to add other types of guitar music, such as flamenco and jazz,” said Ögmundur.
