More than 100 volunteers participated in the search last weekend. Most of them searched the area around Hrafntinnusker on foot. Search dogs were used, as well as single-engine aircraft, as stated in an ICE-SAR press release.
The search concluded without result yesterday evening. The weather forecast for the next few days is unfavorable and so continued search has not been planned for the time being.
No evidence has been found suggesting that the tourist has left the area. The weather was poor at the time that he went missing. Three of the man’s companions canceled their planned hike because of the weather but the man who is missing continued by himself.
