Alvar Aalto Guides Visitors around Nordic House

The Nordic House in Reykjavík has launched tours where actors in the role of renowned Finnish architect Alvar Aalto (1898-1976), who designed the building (inaugurated in 1968), guide people around the facilities, reciting the building’s history.

The purpose of the tours is to encourage more people to visit the Nordic House and familiarize themselves with its operations in a fun and lively manner, a press release describes.

Each tour concludes in the on-site greenhouse where refreshments made by the Nordic House’s award winning restaurant Dill, which places emphasis on Nordic cuisine and local food, will be on offer.

The tours take place Monday through Saturday at 11 am and 1 pm. Tickets cost EUR 10 (ISK 1,500, USD 14) and children younger than 16 get free admission.
