An agreement has been reached by all parties at Althingi to take a recess over the upcoming Merchant’s Holiday weekend, mbl.is reports.

This way, the select committees will get time to further discuss the state guarantee of Icesave agreements.
The time will also be used to reach an agreement between party groups regarding Icesave. Currently, the opinion of the Institute of Economics is awaited.
Althingi was inaugurated Friday May 15th, after the April 25th elections. It was supposed to be in session until Iceland’s national holiday, June 17th, but has now been in session a month longer that planned. Althingi will resume the first week of August.
