Icelandic footballer Alfreð Finnbogason is currently in San Sebastian, Spain, where he just underwent, and passed, a medical evaluation for Real Sociedad. He subsequently signed a four-year contract with the Basque team, which officially announced their purchase of Alfreð on their website today.
According to Spanish media, Real Sociedad paid EUR 7.5 million (USD 10 million; ISK 1.1 billion) for the player, and additionally EUR 2.5 million in achievement related fees.
Alfreð, who previously played for SC Heerenveen, scored the most goals of any player in the Dutch Eredivisie in the past season with 29 goals.
