So far the top goal scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie 2013-14 is 24-year-old Icelandic Heereveen striker, Alfreð Finnbogason, with ten goals so far.

In second place is Feyenoord’s player Graziano Pelle with nine goals.
In third place, with five goals each, are three players, two of whom are Icelanders: Ajax Amsterdam’s Kolbeinn Sigþórsson and AZ Alkmaar’s Aron Jóhannsson. The third player is Twente’s player Dusan Tadic.
Yesterday The Daily Mirror wrote that Premier League club Newcastle United is hot on the trail of Alfreð, who is “rapidly becoming one of the hottest players in Holland.”
In the summer transfer window, Alfreð turned down the chance to join Scottish giants Celtic in a GBP 5 million (ISK 975 million, USD 8 million, EUR 6 million) deal.
Should Alfreð transfer to PL club Newcastle in the January transfer window, he will join his Icelandic friend Gylfi Þór Sigurðsson of Tottenham Hotspur. He is currently one of the hottest players in the Premier League.
Last Saturday, Gylfi scored Tottenham’s only goal in the London derby game, at home against Chelsea. The game resulted in a 1-1 tie.
