Aluminum giant Alcoa, which is in the process of constructing a controversial aluminum smelter in east Iceland and has made inquiries into building a second in north Iceland, has announced that it will donate ISK 20 million (USD 280,000) in support of projects in the national parks of Skaftafell, southeast Iceland, and Jökulsárgljúfur canyon, north Iceland.
