A new album was released this week to honor the memory of five-year-old Svandís Thula Ásgeirsdóttir who died in a traffic accident on Sudurlandsvegur highway in south Iceland on December 2.
Svandís Thula’s eight-year-old brother, Nóni Saer, was badly injured in the accident and is currently undergoing rehabilitation, as reported in a press release issued by frostid.is this week.
The siblings lived next to musician Leone Tinganelli and his daughters Salka and Mist were good friends of Svandís Thula.
Tinganelli wrote a song about Svandís Thula that he performed at her funeral. Singer Gudrún Árný performs Tinganelli’s song on the album. The album is called Svandís Thula – Minning, “Svandís Thula – a Memory.”
The album features three other Icelandic songs, which are performed by well known local artists, Helgi Rafn, Margrét Eir and Páll Óskar.
Everyone who worked on publishing the album donated their time. All profits go to Nóni Saer Ásgeirsson.
The album can be bought on www.frostid.is.
