Former Vice-President of the US and Nobel Prize Winner, Al Gore, will attend an open meeting on environmental issues in the lecture hall of the University of Iceland in Reykjavík on April 8. The presentation is already fully booked.
Rector of the University of Iceland Kristín Ingólfsdóttir will be moderator during the meeting, Morgunbladid reports.
The meeting is organized by Glitnir Bank and the University of Iceland. They advertised it on Saturday and by noon on Sunday there were no tickets left. Uncollected tickets that were reserved will be distributed after April 4.
Már Másson, director of promotional issues at Glitnir Bank, said this positive reaction to Gore’s meeting is pleasing though it is not surprising, since Gore is considered one of the greatest environmental activists in the world.
Másson said the meeting is an important part of Glitnir Bank’s marketing initiatives in the field of renewable energy resources and that the bank’s operations in that field were increasing in the US.
