SA, the ice hockey team in Akureyri, north Iceland, became double Icelandic champions in ice hockey yesterday when the women’s team earned the title with a 4-0 victory over Björninn from Reykjavík. Last month the SA men’s team became the Icelandic champions.

Yesterday’s game, and the final in a series of three, was played in Egilshöll in Reykjavík. SA lost the first game against Björninn in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw but won the second game 5-1 in their home rink in Akureyri, Morgunbladid reports.

Yesterday’s goals were scored by Arndís Sigurdardóttir and Gudrún Kristín Blöndal in the first round, and Anna Sonja Ágústsdóttir and Birna Baldursdóttir sealed the victory with the last two goals of the game.
