SA, the ice hockey team in Akureyri, north Iceland now boasts a dual Icelandic championship title in ice hockey for the second year in a row—the women beat Björninn from Reykjavík 4-1 on Wednesday night and the men had already earned the championship title.

Last night’s goals were scored by Hrund Thorlacius, Sara Smiley, Gudrún Arngrímsdóttir and Birna Baldursdóttir for SA and Hanna Rut Heimisdóttir scored the goal for Björninn, ruv.is reports.
The SA women also proved the stronger team in its first duel against Björninn in the championship final, which was played in Reykjavík earlier this week.
After last night’s victory, SA’s captain Gudrún Blöndal raised the cup and the team’s achievements were then celebrated at the local ice rink.
