Akureyri Culture House Opts for Icelandic Chairs

The realty division of the Akureyri town council has agreed to entrust Reykjavík-based design company Prologus with manufacturing 500 chairs for the local culture house, Hof, which is currently under construction at the Akureyri harbor.

The value of the agreement with Prologus is almost ISK 40 million (USD 319,000, EUR 200,000). Chairs from ten different producers were considered for the project, two of which were Icelandic, ruv.is reports.

This winter the final stage of the construction of Hof will be entered. The culture house is scheduled to open on August 29, 2010, which is Akureyri’s anniversary.
