New regulations about hand luggage will take affect at Keflavík international airport on 6 November, at which point all fluid will have to be put into zipped plastic bags.
It is already prohibited to have sharp objects in hand luggage on Icelandic international flights. Now fluid will also be prohibited unless it is put into special plastic bags with a zipper, RÚV reports.
Half full bottles, like a half finished bottle of soda, will have to be left behind. It is expected that with these new regulations, it will take longer for passengers to go through security.
For everything to run smoothly, passengers are asked to be prepared when they arrive at the airport security, by having already removed their belts and watches, for example.
It passengers are not ready, they might be asked to go back to the end of the queue.
