Aftershocks Tapering Off

South Iceland has been experiencing repeated aftershocks following last Thursday’s earthquake.

The aftershocks began to taper off on Saturday, reducing to magnitude 1 or 1.5 as opposed to 3 to 4 previously. Although the aftershocks are declining rapidly, the Icelandic Metrological Office predicts small shocks to continue over the next few days.
