Accordion Festival at Reykjavík City Museum

The annual heyanna and accordion music festival will be held at Árbaejarsafn – Reykjavík City Museum tomorrow. Heyannir is the old name of the summer month when haymaking takes place in Iceland.

In the past few years, the festival has proven popular among the museum’s visitors, reports.

Many of Iceland’s foremost accordion players will perform, including a big band from the accordion association Hljómur from Reykjavík, which will be conducted by Sigurdur Alfonsson.

Members of the Association of Accordion Enthusiasts from the Sudurnes region will be special guests of honor.
