Ring Road 1 has been closed by Rauðalækur, west of Hella, South Iceland, due to a traffic accident, Vísir reports. The accident, a two-car collision, occurred at 10:30 this morning. The Hvolsvöllur Police are at the scene.
Two ambulances have been sent to the accident site, in addition to a truck from the fire fighting department with special equipment, since an individual is stuck in one of the vehicles.
Update: One person was seriously injured in the accident and transported to Landspítali University Hospital. The road has been reopened for traffic.
