On the Ísafjörður-Suðureyri route, there was an average of 2.3 passengers per trip, 5.8 on the Ísafjörður, Flateyri and Þingeyri route, and 7.3 from Holtahvefi to Hnífsdalur, according to <i>bb.is<p> http://www.bb.is/Pages/26?NewsID=173248
In comparison, the capital region bus service counted 995,123 passengers last month.
A recent Capacent poll showed that 54.2 percent of residents in Reykjavík never use, or are thinking about using, public transport.
