Spaugstofan – Iceland’s version of Saturday Night Live, celebrated its 20-year anniversary on Sunday in style RÚV reports. In his speech at the party, Ásgrímsson thanked the spaugstofumenn for their help in maintaining his political career – by, for instance, portraying him as so humourless that whenever he managed to crack a joke, people laughed heartily, since their expectations are so routinely low.
