The chair of the Association of UFO Enthusiasts in Iceland, Magnús Skarphéðinsson, told RÚV on Monday that he has registered 170 UFO sightings from individuals in Iceland over the years, thirty of which he said were very detailed.

Half of the 170 sightings in Iceland relate to light in the night sky, what appeared as a strange flying object.
Magnús told visir.is that a detailed case was recently reported. Alda Jónsdóttir and her husband saw three silver dishes flying over Lake Rauðavatn in the outskirts of Reykjavík. The UFO stopped above the lake for a moment before continuing its journey.
