11-year old boy apprehended with drugs

According to police, an 11-year old boy who was apprehended by police last week with cannabis in his possession is the youngest individual ever taken with narcotics in Iceland. An assistant police officer in Reykjavík claims that it is an absolute exception for children that young to have drugs in their possession, but are urging parents to stay on the alert. The boy’s case has been handed over to child protection authorities. This is reported by Morgunbladid and RÚV online.
