“Reflection” Exhibition in the National Museum

A photographic exhibition entitled “Reflection,” featuring the work of eight artists who are all members of the recently-founded Association of Icelandic Contemporary Photographers, opened in the National Museum of Iceland last week.

According to a press release from the National Museum, Icelandic contemporary photography is considered aggressive, intrusive, personal and poetic while at the same time delivering complicated and often surprising information about our society and environment.

This is the first exhibition organized by the Association of Icelandic Contemporary Photographers so it marks a certain watershed in Icelandic photography.

The photographers whose works are on display in the exhibition are Katrín Elvarsdóttir, Pétur Thomsen, Ívar Brynjólfsson, Bára Kristinsdóttir, Einar Falur Ingólfsson, Bragi Thór Jósefsson, Spessi and Thórdís Erla Ágústsdóttir.

“Reflection” will be on display until September 14.
