“Pure Horror” on display in southwest Iceland

The art exhibition “Pure Horror” opens in the gallery Sudsudvestur in Reykjanesbaer, on Reykjanes peninsula, today. The exhibition is a cooperation between Birgir Snaebjörn Birgisson and JBK Ransu.

“Pure Horror” deals with questions on beauty, ethics and purity. Purity is defined as something unpolluted and uncorrupted and has often been subject to theories on beauty and artists’ search for “the pure form,” as described in a press release issued by Sudsudvestur.

The relationship between beauty and horror has been incorporated into the visual artwork on display in “Pure Horror.” The exhibition is open every weekend until August 5.
