“OUT / IN” Exhibition Opens in Reykjavík Art Museum

An exhibition-project by Icelandic visual artist Hlynur Hallsson entitled “OUT / IN” opened in Reykjavík Art Museum – Hafnarhús on Thursday. Twenty shops and companies in central Reykjavík are participating in the project.

Ásmundur Ásmundsson, “Fantagott Pepsí” (“Fantagood Pepsi”). Location: Kisan.

The aim of the exhibition is to bring works from the museum’s collection out to the public and simultaneously shed a new light on common objects in our surroundings and exhibit them in a new context inside the museum.

The shops and companies participating will exhibit the museum’s artwork and in return lend objects to Hallsson, who will put them on display in Hafnarhús.

Media reports on the exhibition will also be part of Hallson’s project. His goal is to have different magazines from all sectors to cover the exhibition and then collect these magazines and display them in Hafnarhús.

The exhibition runs through January 11, 2009.
