“Nordic Mood” Displayed in California

An exhibition of photographs by Icelandic artist Fridgeir Helgason, entitled “Nordic Mood,” opens in the architecture firm and art gallery Minarc & Gallery SKART in Santa Monica, California, tonight.

“Nordic Mood” is a journey around Iceland, a press release from the gallery explains. “Fridgeir Helgason’s photographs of his native country will introduce us to a new and undiscovered world in a refreshing conceptual and documentary style,” it states.

The opening reception for “Nordic Mood” takes place between 6 pm and 9 pm tonight and will be an evening of art, music and “a taste of Iceland,” accompanied by music from the world-renowned sound engineer Birgir Jón Birgirsson, a.k.a. Biggi, recognized by his work with musicians such as Sigur Rós and Mugison.

The ceremony will also feature a special screening of Heima, a critically-acclaimed documentary on Sigur Rós.

The “Nordic Mood” exhibition runs through July 31.
