“Night of Lights” in Reykjanesbaer

Reykjanesbaer municipality, on Reykjanes peninsula, southwest Iceland, celebrates the “Night of Lights” this weekend with a concert by the Gospel Choir of Reykjavík featuring Páll Rósinkranz, lead singer of Icelandic rock band Jet Black Joe.

The concert will take place in the Andrews Theatre, which seats 500, in the former US Naval Air Station near Keflavík International Airport at 3 pm on Sunday. The concert is sponsored by Glitnir Bank and admission is free.

Yesterday, a photo exhibition by Einar Falur Ingólfsson opened in Reykjanesbaer Art Gallery entitled “Aftur” (“Again”). Ingólfsson’s photographs document his childhood years in Keflavík.

This is the eighth annual “Night of Lights” and visitors can take part in a range of cultural events throughout the weekend.
