A team of students from Háteigsskóli in Reykjavík won Skrekkur, the annual talent competition for elementary schools, for the first time in Reykjavík City Theater yesterday evening with their act “Síðasta blómið” (“The Last Flower”).
From RÚV’s coverage of Skrekkur.
The excitement was tangible while students were waiting for the winner to be announced and once it became clear that Háteigsskóli had won, the hall exploded in applause, Morgunblaðið described.
All the country’s elementary schools that have teenage divisions are eligible to participate in the contest and eight schools made it to the final. Langholtsskóli placed second and Réttarholtsskóli third. This was the 22nd time that the talent show was held.
