“Key to Icelandic community” launched

The website www.island.is was launched yesterday by Prime Minister Geir H. Haarde. It offers practical information about living in Iceland in four languages and is thought of as a key to the Icelandic community.

According to Fréttabladid, institutes, ministries and communities in Iceland cooperated on the launch of the website. The goal of the website is to make it easier for individuals and companies to access practical information and to communicate with authorities.

It contains information about the economic life in Iceland, the real estate market, consumer issues, retirement, health institutes, education, immigration and more in Icelandic, English, Polish and Croatian.
