“Country Days” Celebrated in Northwest Iceland

The spirit of the “Wild West” will dominate the atmosphere in the small town of Skagaströnd in northwest Iceland this weekend during its annual “Country Days” festival, celebrated by locals and visitors with music and dance.

A ball will be held tonight in the country-inspired restaurant Kántrýbaer, 24 Stundir reports. Kántrýbaer is operated by Iceland’s only American-style cowboy, Hallbjörn Hjartarson.

An art exhibition will open at the occasion in the local art center and musician KK will host a course in busking, street art and music. Participants in the course will then entertain festival goers with musical and artistic performances.
